Origin

Cameroon Hibiscus — Origin Guide for Bulk Buyers

Agroliel sources dried Hibiscus sabdariffa in Cameroon and prepares it for bulk export. This page explains the origin, how lots are handled and what a buyer can expect during qualification.

The crop

Hibiscus sabdariffa, known locally as roselle

Hibiscus sabdariffa is grown across the drier savannah belt of Cameroon. The part traded internationally is the calyx — the fleshy red structure around the seed pod — which is harvested, separated and dried. Dried calyces are the raw material behind hibiscus tea, karkade, agua de jamaica, beverage concentrates and a range of botanical ingredient applications.

Agroliel supplies whole dried calyces in bulk. We do not sell retail packs and we do not publish certifications, laboratory values or volume claims we cannot evidence.

Why buyers add a Cameroon origin

  • Origin diversification

An additional African sourcing line alongside existing suppliers.

  • Direct sourcing network

Product is sourced through our own network rather than resold anonymously.

  • Bulk-only focus

Built for container-scale commercial procurement, not small-lot trading.

  • Specification-led

Parameters are agreed in writing with each buyer before any commercial shipment.
