Bulk karkade for UAE importers and re-exporters

What Gulf import and re-export programmes usually settle before taking a first container of dried hibiscus from a new origin.

Karkade — dried Hibiscus sabdariffa calyces — is a staple beverage ingredient across the Gulf. The UAE is both a consumption market and a re-export hub serving the wider Middle East, South Asia and East Africa, so buyers here usually evaluate an origin for two uses at once: their own packing lines and onward distribution.

1. Written specification first

Agree form, colour expectation, moisture, foreign matter and any microbiological or residue requirements in writing. Values should be confirmed by testing the relevant lot, not lifted from a brochure. Agroliel publishes no laboratory values in advance; specifications and documentation are available upon request, as described on the quality page.

2. Sample evaluation against your packing or beverage line

Tea packers, beverage manufacturers and re-exporters apply different thresholds. A sample prepared against your stated destination and application avoids a mismatch later.

3. Packaging and marking for onward movement

Re-export adds requirements to packaging and marking that pure domestic consumption does not. Formats, net weights, palletisation and marking are subject to buyer requirements and are confirmed per enquiry — flag re-export needs in the first message.

4. Documentation and routing

Discharge port, routing feasibility and documentation are confirmed per enquiry according to buyer and destination requirements. Incoterms are part of the commercial agreement and are agreed in writing before dispatch.

5. Trial container, then a programme

A trial shipment against the agreed specification is the normal qualification route. Recurring supply is planned once performance is confirmed.
